Haqiqi: About the foreign players in Nasser League
Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association and Chairman of the Players’ Status and Transfers Committee, Abdul Redha Haqiqi, said that the committee, in coordination with the General Secretariat and the Competitions and Registration Department, addressed the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League clubs regarding their proposal on the number of foreign players for the competitions of the new sports season 2024-2025.
Haqiqi pointed out that the association has set two options for member clubs regarding the number of foreign players: the first (5 foreign players + two resident players 25 and 23 years old), and the second (6 foreign players + one resident player 23 years old).
Haqiqi explained that the association received responses from the clubs of Al-Najma, Al-Riffa Al-Sharqi, Sitra, Muharraq, Aali, Al-Shabab, Al-Ahli, Al-Riffa, Bahrain and Al-Malikiya, and they chose the first proposal (5 foreign players + two resident players).
The Chairman of the Players’ Status and Transfers Committee confirmed that upon completion of receiving the clubs’ proposals, the committee will submit them to the General Secretariat of the Association; In preparation for presenting them to the Board of Directors and taking the necessary decisions in this regard.
Haqiqi explained that the association continues its approach of consulting the clubs’ opinions and involving them in the decision-making process; Which contributes to the public interest of Bahraini football, appreciating the great cooperation and response shown by the clubs.
