Bahrain supports Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the 2034 World Cup

The President of the Bahrain Football Association, His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, confirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s file to host the 2034 World Cup.

In a statement by the President of the Bahrain Football Association; On the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s official submission of the candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup, on Monday, July 29, 2024, in the French capital – Paris, at a ceremony held by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the Bahraini Federation supports the integrated Saudi file to host the World Cup in 2034, which has all the elements of success to host the largest football team tournament in the world.

His Excellency stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have strong and solid relations linked by a common destiny, as these relations take various forms in all fields, in line with the lofty royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect and preserve him, in addition to the visions and aspirations of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, especially what the Saudi project to host the 2034 World Cup represents as a crowning achievement of the distinguished sports renaissance that the big sister is experiencing, led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said: “Our full support for the Saudi file comes in line with the sound visions and generous directives of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to strengthen relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at all levels, including sports in general and football in particular. It also comes in line with the great interest and pioneering and ongoing initiatives of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to consolidate these relations and emphasize their deep-rooted historical roots.

His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa praised the outstanding efforts made by those in charge of the Saudi file, praising the role and support of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and the support and efforts of the President of the Saudi Football Federation Yasser Al-Misehal, and the various officials in charge of the major project to host the 2034 World Cup.

His Excellency expressed his full confidence that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosting the 2034 World Cup Finals will be another successful milestone for the tournament by all standards, noting that the hosting file confirms the great, influential and positive position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the world map as a whole, and in various fields, including sports.
