BWNT draws negatively with Laos in Asian qualifiers

The Bahraini national women’s team tied with its Lao counterpart, goalless, in the match between the two teams today, Thursday, at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, for the second round of the qualifiers for the Asian Cup finals in India 2022.

With this tie, the Chinese Taipei team remains at the top of the general standings of Group One, which is hosted by the Bahrain Football Association until October 24, while the Bahraini team comes in second place, tied with Laos, each with one point.

Despite the tie in its first match, the Bahraini team still has a chance to qualify for the continental finals by defeating its counterpart, the Chinese Taipei team, in the final match of the group next Sunday, October 26, as the tournament draw stipulates that one team from each group will qualify.
