BWNT continues preparations for Asian qualifiers

The Bahraini women’s national football team continues its training sessions as part of its preparations for the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 Asian Cup, which will be held from October 18 to 24.

The women’s red list includes 23 players: Alia Jumaa Al-Mudhahki, Yasmine Fayez Tabila, Manar Ibrahim Yaqoub, Marwa Mohammed Mubarak, Huda Ali Salman, Kholoud Saleh Abdullah, Hessa Riyadh Al-Essa, Rose Fayez Tabila, Amira Badr Suwar, Iman Rashid Al-Khattal, Fatima Hamad Mohammed Al-Nusf, Fatima Abdul Hamid Issa, Rawan Nabil Al-Ali, Wesal Ahmed Al-Yasi, Dana Basem Sharaf Al-Din, Farah Jihad Khaled, Lilia Javed Sabkar, Zahra Nizar Ali, Maryam Abdullah Issa, Sarah Mohammed Aliwi, Hana Ahmed Hafez, Sama Amjad Qasim and Manayer Ahmed.

The Bahraini national team played a number of friendly matches as part of its preparations, where it defeated the Turkish team Kocaelispo 1-2, and lost to the ALG Spor club, one of the clubs in the Turkish Women’s Super League, in two matches with a score of 0-3, 0-2, before its recent loss to the Indian national team 0-5.
The draw for the Asian qualifiers placed Bahrain in Group A alongside Chinese Taipei and Laos.

The Bahraini team, which has developed significantly over the past four years, will face fierce competition with Chinese Taipei for the top spot in the group, while Laos is participating in the qualifiers for the first time.

Bahrain and Chinese Taipei were close to qualifying in the previous qualifiers for the 2018 edition, with Bahrain settling for third place behind qualifiers Jordan and the Philippines in Group A, while Chinese Taipei came in second place behind qualifiers Thailand in Group C.
